Academic Project

SAIS has been one of the first international schools to obtain their Definite License from the Portuguese Ministry of Education without the compulsory four years of probation period. SAIS has been fully licensed since its first year of existence. We work in close conjunction with the Ministry and DGES for obtaining the Equivalência of all our International Diplomas. This ensures a smooth transition into University Education anywhere in the world.

SAIS has been a Cambridge International School since 2013. We run the Cambridge Pathway Curriculum from Primary KS2, through Middle School KS3 leading into IGCSEs and ALevel/AICE Diploma years. We are an exemplary Cambridge fellowship school and a CAIE examination center. We take extreme pride in following CAIE syllabi for their breadth/depth and the stamina and grit it provides our pupils at their various stages of education.

The local town hall, CMCX Câmara Municipal de Cascais has supported SAIS since its existence.  We promote all our work experience sprees through many of their institutions like Cascais Proxima and Cascais Ambiente. We are involved with their fundraising and voluntary activities. SAIS partakes in all local sporting competitions with them too. The Câmara has been a pillar of stability for SAIS and a major partner in promoting our school expansion project. Stay tuned!

Santo Antonio International School is a member of AEEP since it first opened. This is a National Association that promotes all International schools in Portugal. They aid in commiting our academic programmes, endeavours and venues to the Ministry of Education and nationwide. It is wonderful to be able to share good practice with all other International Schools. SAIS also is a Member of the CHESS comminitee : Councils of Heads of English Speaking Schools.
